My friends at MomDot are hosting a Christmas of Dreams blog party for the holidays. Have you noticed the button over there---> Day two is sponsored by LaPlates and Lets Go Strolling and Natitys Design. Today's question posted by Alicia is a request to share our family traditions...
A Christmas tradition started a couple years ago by my dad when he gave my son the story "Twas The Night Before Christmas". Now he reads that to him ever year on Christmas Eve after dinner. So sweet!
Another Christmas tradition around here is that Santa does not wrap his presents. He usually hides them downstairs as well. We open Aiden's presents from us under the tree, then we head downstairs to see what Santa brought. We have another tree down there and that is where we have the presents my husband and I bought for each other. While Aiden checks out his Santa loot, my husband and I exchange our gifts. Then it is off to the kitchen for some bacon and pancakes.
Santa brought this last year, it was fun!
We tend to do things the same on every holiday each year. Seems like our little family is carving out their own traditions as we go. This Easter we spent the night at a local Best Western with an indoor water park. I would LOVE to make that an Easter tradition. We had such a great time there. My son really loves to swim and it was hilarious to see him in the pool and playing with all the slides and the lazy river. Hopefully we can do it again next year!
Day One Post is here.

Oh what a great idea! Lucky that you get to set up 2 trees!!! I love that ball pit. My boys would go crazy!
WHOA! That's kick ass! Here's My Day 2! I have Mr. Linky up, so leave your link!
That ball jump thing is so cool! I was thinking of getting my son something like that. He would love it.
It's always fun to have non-traditional "traditions".
We had a firetruck ball pit.....they are a ton of fun!!!
What fun traditions! That ball pit looks exciting!
I think your Easter traditions sounds like a definite keeper, I'm sure it was a blast.
That ball pit rocks! Can your Santa come to my house?
That is a great idea! Especially since there is so much wrapping going on in my house. Thanks for the great idea!
The idea of opening presents with hubby while the kids just go at it is AWESOME! I'm just afraid it would confuse the dreaded thank you notes to the in laws
That is so sweet that your Dad gets involved like that. Very cool!
We got Daniel a hug SpiderMan play tent last year from Santa. He loved it and was sad when we had to leave it behind. It was just too big for our new apt.
My dad always read us the night before christmas too on christmas eve. Now he tears upwhen we do it because we're not babies anymore... Just curious how long after Christmas were you tired of picking up stray balls? Lol.
Our presents from Santa were never wrapped either. I love that ball pit! I wonder what my daughter would do with it!
Very cool ball pit!
Happy Holidays!
I dream of our next house and the ability to have 2 trees!
That sounds great and the ball castle is cool!
WOW! Your house sound like fun!
Does sound like fun and wow that is a fun castle
That looks like one fun present!
Oh my! That is an AWESOME ball-pit castle thingy!
That looks like a fun ball pit! I considered getting one for my son but we don't really have a place for it and I know the balls would end up everywhere except the pit!
